Inspired by bicycle handlebars, the tubular-steel frame of the Wassily Lounge Chair (also known as the Model B3 Chair) was initially fabricated using techniques employed by local German plumbers.
An extreme, modernist interpretation of the classic club chair reduced to its most basic elements, this 1980s edition is upholstered with clear rubber 'spaghetti' straps in lieu of vinyl or canvas. The straps give the chair an ethereal quality, contrasting with the frame's chrome finish.
